Although we were not high on this facility overall, we gave it a B- for inspections. This score is better than this facility's overall grade. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate information about this nursing home's deficiencies. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.

We also ended up giving this facility a fairly respectable grade in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B-. Our nursing rating is primarily based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This place provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, although this nursing home got dinged a bit for nursing hours, it excelled in some of our quality-based measures. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it fared well in this area.

This facilities third most favorable area was short-term care. We gave it a B- in this category. This is essentially a middle of the pack score in this category. Our short-term care scores are arguably most important for folks requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation typically utilizes more highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing means not merely nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, this place was below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the metrics we assessed. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality

The next category we analyzed was long-term care. We gave it a grade of B- in this area. This is a decent grade in this category. In a long-term care setting, the primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. After looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination record. Frankly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home vaccinated 59.70464 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which happens to be quite a few points lower than average. The last datapoint we assessed was the nursing home's hospitalization rate. We found that this facility had 1.87 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is also slightly below average.
