Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home excelled in our shot-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that category. For long-term care residents, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. One of the criteria we considered on top of nurse's aid hours was vaccinations. It doesn't appear that this facility submitted vaccination data. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. Nursing grades are based largely on nurse staffing levels. This nursing home provided 4.7 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This was one of the higher figures we found. In addition, a significant percentage of this care was provided by registered nurses, which are highly skilled nurses. These are both really impressive figures. On top of offering impressive levels of care, this nursing home also excelled in the quality measures we assessed. It performed as well as any nursing home in the nation in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

We also would like to note the fact that this facility was awarded a first-rate grade of A- in our short-term care category. Our short-term care ratings are critical for people requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a wide scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. When we assessed this facility's nursing hours, we found it offered substantially more care from registered nurses than most nursing homes. The last datapoint we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this facility also received top notch inspections in recent years. We awarded them one of our better grades in that category, with a B+. Inspection scores weigh several factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with better scores in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. We were not able to locate information about this nursing home's deficiencies.
