Facility Inspections
To pair with its decent overall score, we gave this nursing home an A+ for its inspection grade. This is far better than the facility's overall grade. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection grades. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being quite minor. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. This is what you like to see in this important metric.
Nurse Quality
Building on this nursing home's list of strengths, it also earned an excellent nursing score. We awarded them an impressive grade of C in this category. Nursing grades are mostly associated with the facility's nurse staffing. This place averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is well below average. Lastly, nursing grades also consider quality-based metrics, such as preventing major falls. Despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is usually a reliable indicator that a facility has quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a nursing home supplies enough nurses to assist its patients.

Short-term Care Quality
The third area we graded was short-term care. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of C. Short-term care grades are generally used to score a facility's performance with rehabilitation In order to offer quality rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to feature better levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. We were not able to locate registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The last metric we looked at in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that just 4.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is actually below average.
Long-term Care Quality
Our final category is long-term care, where we gave this facility a C in that category. For long-term care residents, the primary goal is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility gave the vaccine to just 47.088608 percent of its residents. Nevertheless, this nursing home excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
