Although we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to point out its nearly flawless inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A in this category. Inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this nursing home had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.

This facility vaccinated 82.608696 percent of its residents. This is quite a bit below what we were hoping for. Surprisingly, this facility was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.

In addition, we gave this nursing home a rock-bottom F in the category of short-term care. In computing our short-term care ratings, we look at a nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. This area is often a meaningful assessment of a nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. With a score in this range in this category, we were not shocked to find this nursing home was below average in several staffing figures we looked at. In fact, it provided far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most facilities. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.

Turning to the last area, this nursing home didn't perform very well here either. Due to a poor grade of F in nursing, this is about as as uninspiring as it gets. We looked at the levels of nurses working for the nursing home, as well as the number of hours those nurses were with patients, in determining our rating in this area. This place averaged only 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident each day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
