Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively solid government inspections in recent years. We gave it a respectable grade of B+ in this area, which is much better than its overall grade. Inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
Sadly, this nursing home's next most respectable score is short-term care. As it turns out, with a D in this category, it still performed somewhat badly. Our short-term care grades are probably more meaningful for people requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation usually mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not just nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Based on its grade in this category, we were not surprised to discover that this place is well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its residents based on the metrics we assessed. Frankly, this was about what we expected to find. The last datapoint we considered in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar metrics was damning for this nursing home's short-term care grade.

Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this nursing home only received a grade of D for its long-term care grade, which is not an impressive grade. Nursing homes that do not fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We discovered that this facility administered the vaccine to just 88.82979 percent of its patients, which is a bit of a concern. Surprisingly, this place was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.
Nurse Quality
Switching gears to the final area, this nursing home really did not perform well in this category either. With a bottom of the barrel grade of F in nursing, this is just about as terrible as it gets. There are several criteria included in this area. Many of the subcategories relate to staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Unfortunately, this nursing home also had terrible scores in some of the quality-based measures to go along with its weak nursing hours. We looked at the percentage of residents sustaining pressure ulcers and we were very disappointed. This place was at approximately 1.5 times the national average in this measure.
