Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

One of the many reasons this turned out to be a great nursing home is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. Our nursing score is based on the facility's level of nurse staffing. We look at both the levels of training of the nurses and the number of hours spent with residents. This particular nursing home provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Adding to this nursing home's impressive resume, we awarded this facility a grade of A for inspections. Inspection grades weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better scores in this area tend to have few of these severe deficiencies. This nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent threat to resident safety or health. A few minor dings aren't necessarily something to panic about.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this nursing home also received favorable long-term care scores in our assessment. Indeed, we gave it one of our more favorable scores in that category, with a score of B+. Facilities that excel in this category tend to be well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to residents. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination records. This facility vaccinated 94.44444 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping patients healthy. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In our last area, we awarded this facility an A for its short-term care score. This wrapped up an elite report card. In our short-term care assessment, we try to craft a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who returned home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.
