Facility Inspections
In addition to being a strong facility overall, this place really excelled in our inspections category, where it earned an A+. Few facilities performed better in this category. Our inspection scores are based on pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this category tend to have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Although this place had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home was awarded a favorable long-term care score as well. We gave it one of our better scores in that area with a score of B+. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to ensure patients are kept in good health. One of the criteria we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours was vaccinations. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccination to 59.40959 percent of its residents. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Nurse Quality
This facility's next best category was its nursing grade, where it received a grade of C. While this didn't quite match its scores in some of the categories discussed above, this is still a decent score. Nursing grades are mostly based on the facility's nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a low total compared with most other facilities. Lastly, our nursing ratings also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this place actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has sufficient quality controls in place. Some falls can be avoided if a facility provides enough nurses aids to assist its residents.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home's weakest area is short-term care, which is the last area we assessed. For this area, we gave this facility a grade of just D. In our short-term care assessment, we attempt to forge a fair gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Unfortunately, this facility was subpar in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the staffing figures we considered. The last metric we considered in this category is the percentage of residents that were able to return home from the facility. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 3.8 percent of its residents returning home.
