Facility Inspections

Grade: A

On top of performing well in its overall grade, this nursing home performed at an even higher level in the area of inspections. In fact, it received a nearly flawless inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that category with a score of A. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to this nursing home's list of achievements, it also was given a fine long-term care grade. We gave them an impressive grade of A- in this area. Facilities that receive this type of grade in this category tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 95.959595 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B. Our nursing category consists of several factors, many of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by having a policy of turning residents more often.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The last area we assessed was short-term care. This nursing home received a strong short-term care score in our assessment, with a B-. Even though this wasn't as impressive as some of its other category grades, this is nevertheless a respectable rating for this area. Our short-term care grades are crucial for individuals looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. We weren't able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this place. The last statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of patients that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that just 5.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home. This figure was below average.
