Facility Inspections

Grade: A

On top of receiving a strong overall grade, this nursing home performed even better in our inspections category which is associated with the nursing home's recent government inspections. In fact, we awarded it an A for this category, which is one of our best grades. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This facility fared well in the area of long-term care. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A- for that area, which happens to be one of our highest grades. When facilities receive this kind of score in long-term care it is typically a good sign for resident care and suggests that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is far higher than most nursing homes. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility received a very good nursing grade this year as well. It received one of our better scores in that category with a grade of B+. Nursing scores are mostly tied to the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The last area we assessed was short-term care. This nursing home received a strong short-term care score in our assessment, with a C. Even though this wasn't as impressive as some of its other category grades, this is nevertheless a respectable rating for this area. Our short-term care grades are crucial for individuals looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. We weren't able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this place. The last statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of patients that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. This figure was below average.
