Facility Inspections
A+
Historical
In addition to faring well overall, this facility also earned nearly flawless government inspections. Therefore, it earned one of our highest scores in that area with an A+. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some can be relatively minor. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
A+
Historical
This nursing home also received an A+ for its short-term care score. Our short-term care grades are believed to be most critical for patients in need of rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation generally mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means not only nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. This nursing home is markedly above the national average in terms of its quantity of both physical therapy and registered nurse hours available to its patients. It offered about 50% more care per resident from both of these groups of skilled professionals than a typical facility provided. Finally, we looked at the number of patients that ultimately were able to return home from this facility. On top of excelling in the area of physical therapy hours, we found that it performed as well as just about any nursing home in the nation with 70.2 percent of its residents returning home.

Nurse Quality
A+
Historical
In addition, this facility received high marks in the area of nursing. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that category with a score of A+. There are several criteria within this area. Many of these criteria are tied to nurse staffing. This nursing home provides an incredible 4.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Out of this total, many of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which is one of the more highly trained levels of nurses. In addition to providing high levels of nursing care, this facility also excelled in the quality-based metrics we looked at. It performed as well as any facility in the nation when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Long-term Care Quality
A
Historical
In the last category we looked at, this facility received an impressive grade grade of A in our long-term care category. With this grade, the facility finished off a straight A report card. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. On top of offering elite levels of nurse staffing, this facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 100 percent of its patients. This percentage is also much better than the majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
