Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection scores. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be relatively minor. This facility was hit with 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were category G through L deficiencies. This means CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies to be an imminent danger to patient health or safety. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Short-term Care Quality
As it turns out, this nursing home only earned a grade of D for its short-term care score, which was actually one of its better category scores. With our short-term care grade, we attempt to craft a sound gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess a nursing home's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. With its score in this category, we weren't stunned to find that this place is well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the metrics we looked at. Finally, we considered the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality
Another concern is the F this nursing home received in the area of long-term care. For patients in need of a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 98.38057 percent of its patients, which is better than the vast majority of nursing homes. To our surprise, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
Nurse Quality
The last area we analyzed was nursing. It received a lowly F for this area, which is a rock bottom score. The nursing grade consists of many subcategories, but the paramount one is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home offered a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is well below average. Unfortunately, this nursing home also had terrible marks in some of the quality-based metrics to go along with its low nursing hour totals. We looked at the percent of patients experiencing pressure ulcers and we were quite disappointed. This place was at roughly 150 percent of the national average in this area.
