In addition to receiving a great overall score, this nursing home also received first-rate inspections in recent years. We awarded it one of our higher scores in that category, with a grade of A+. We weren't able to track down deficiency counts for this nursing home. Without having access to deficiency data for this facility, it was challenging to really assess it in the area of inspections.

Short-term Care Quality

In addition, this facility also was given favorable short-term care scores in our assessment. In fact, we gave it one of our better scores in that category, with a score of B+. In forming our short-term care ratings, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The objective is to devise a barometer for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.7 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

This facility's next best category grade came in the area of nursing. In that category, we gave this nursing home a grade of C. This wasn't quite on par with some of its other category grades mentioned above. Our nursing category consists of a handful of components, many of which are associated with levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this facility actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is generally a good indicator that a nursing home has quality controls in place.
