We awarded them one of our higher grades in that area, with a grade of A. This is a much better grade than the place's overall grade, which was decent but certainly not elite. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home actually fared better in some of the quality measures we looked at. It performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

Our long-term care grade focuses on a facility's personal care instead of the skilled nursing and healthcare services that are critical to a skilled nursing facility. In addition to looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 85.29412 percent of its residents. This is pretty significantly lower than what we expected. Nevertheless, this place was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
