This nursing home received a strong overall score as described above, but we especially would like to emphasize its nearly flawless inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A- in this category. Our inspection grades are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this category tend to have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Fortunately, although this nursing home had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.

This facility also received an impressive long-term care grade. Indeed, we awarded it an above average score of B+ in this category. Long-term care ratings of this caliber generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 83.68421 percent of its patients. This is slightly below what we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable figure. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, at least this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

This facility received a very good nursing grade this year as well. It received one of our better scores in that category with a grade of B. Our nursing score analyzes several components, however, the primary consideration is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Turning to our final category, this nursing home was given a grade of C for short-term care, which is a decent rating. Our short-term care ratings are vital for patients seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a vast range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. Lastly, we considered the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.7 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
