Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it earned a very impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it earned one of our more favorable scores in that category with a B. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This facility was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered severe. This tells you that the inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies an immediate risk to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this nursing home's next best score is short-term care. As it turns out, with a grade of D in this category, it still performed relatively poorly. Our short-term care grades are based on a facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Considering its poor score in this area, we were not surprised to find that this place offered significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most nursing homes. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 4.6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. Nursing scores are largely associated with the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is an alarmingly low total. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to the next category, this facility really didn't perform very well here either. Due to a rock bottom grade of F in long-term care, this is about as as uninspiring as it gets. Nursing homes that do not fare well in long-term care often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. As it turns out, this facility vaccinated a relatively low 88.97059 percent of its patients, which is several points lower than we expected. Surprisingly, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
