In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this facility received an excellent long-term care grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. When nursing homes receive this type of grade in long-term care it is usually a good sign for resident care and suggests that the place is well-staffed with nurses and aids. Pressure ulcers can typically be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a policy of moving a patient more frequently.

In addition, this nursing home also earned a nearly flawless government inspection report. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that category with an A-. Our inspection ratings are tied to items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L.
