Facility Inspections
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall score, we gave it an A- for our inspections rating. This score is far more impressive than the facility's overall score. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. It is typically best to avoid places that have a long list of deficiencies. Fortunately, although this nursing home had some minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G through L. This means that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A few minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to note this nursing home's unfortunate short-term care grade where it was given a lowly F. In crafting our short-term care scores, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The objective is to create a barometer for comparing the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Considering its grade in this area, we were not stunned to find that this facility is well below average in terms of the number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the figures we assessed. Finally, we considered the number of residents who who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.

Long-term Care Quality
In addition, we gave this nursing home an F in the category of long-term care. Facilities that don't score well in this category often do not provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in a few of the areas of routine personal care we looked at. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home administered the vaccine to just 78.50163 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
Nurse Quality
The final area we analyzed is nursing, in which this facility was given a bottom of the barrel score in this category also. We gave it an abysmal F for this category, which is definitely very concerning. Nursing scores are tied to quantity of nursing care available. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. In addition to its weak nursing hours, this place also earned poor marks in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at in computing our nursing grades. We found that more of this place's residents sustained falls which led to major injury. We believe that many falls could be prevented with better nursing care. This statistic contributed to this facility receiving a terrible nursing rating.
