Facility Inspections
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a B- for our inspections rating. In fact, the facility received very impressive inspection report this year. We would argue that one of the most critical factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. In this regard, we especially look at the severity of those deficiencies. This facility received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent threat to resident health or safety. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In that category, we gave this facility an B-. Our nursing grade consists of a handful of datapoints, many of which are associated with quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility excelled in some of the quality measures we assessed. In fact, it scored well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.

Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to the area of long-term care, this nursing home received just a D in that category. Facilities that don't fare well in long-term care typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. On top of considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Frankly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home provided the vaccine to a relatively low 65.14523 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we rated was short-term care, which turned out to be this facility's least impressive category. We gave this nursing home a D in this area. In computing our short-term care ratings, we look at a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. This grade is more often than not a reliable measure of the facility's rehabilitation. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we considered the number of patients that were able to return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.6 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
