Grade: A-plus

On top of being a strong facility overall, it also earned A+ inspections recently. Its inspections were nearly flawless. Inspection scores are based on several pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this category tend to have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This facility also received an A+ for its long-term care grade. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to ensure patients are well cared for. This facility administered the vaccine to 95.2381 percent of its patients. Vaccines are critical to keeping patients out of the hospital. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

In calculating our short-term care scores, we size up the facility's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. This score is frequently a solid assessment of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
