Facility Inspections
In addition to performing well overall, this nursing home earned a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it received one of our best scores in that category with an A+. Our inspection grades account for several factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with better scores in this area typically have few of these severe deficiencies. This facility was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This tells you that the inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
Adding to its top-shelf assessment, this nursing home also received a dominant long-term care score, with a score of A-. When facilities receive a grade in this range in long-term care it typically means it has plenty of staff and is an overall good place to live on a permanent basis. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is much higher than the majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

This is a lower figure than we were hoping for. Lastly, while this place got docked a bit for nursing hours per resident, it actually excelled in some of our quality metrics.
