Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home earned near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

This first-rate facility also excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received a score of A+. Only a small group of facilities fared better in this area. Our short-term care scores are based on a nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a broad spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final measure we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 5.8 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. When computing a facility's nursing rating, we look at the number of hours nurses are with residents as well as the level of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as employing a policy of moving patients more frequently.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In our final area, we gave this facility a grade of A+ for its long-term care score. This finished off a first-rate report card. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care tend to provide consistent around the clock care to ensure residents are kept in good health. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 99.5671 percent of its residents, which is far higher than the majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
