Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. Our inspection scores are based on datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these inspections. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to resident safety. This facility had 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were category G through L deficiencies. This means that inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to present an imminent danger to patient health or safety. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
Short-term Care Quality
Surprisingly, we gave this facility a grade of C for our short-term care score, which is not too bad of a score. In the area of short-term care, we strive to evaluate indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. In this nursing home's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than a typical facility. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.9 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality
As it turns out, this nursing home only received a D for its long-term care rating, which is not an impressive grade. Long-term care scores in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We discovered that this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 81.25 percent of its residents, which is a bit of a concern. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to our final area, we gave this facility a grade of D for the area of nursing. This was the facility's weakest category score. The nursing rating assesses quite a few components, but the primary one is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This facility offered a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This statistic is significantly below average.
