Although we gave this nursing home a terrible overall grade, we gave it a B for our inspections category. This is the result of the nursing home receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Inspection scores are based on several items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important item to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid facilities that have severe deficiencies associated with endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Remarkably, we awarded this facility a C for our short-term care grade, which really isn't a bad grade. In the category of short-term care, we try to assess measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Unfortunately, this facility was below average in terms of its level of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This was a much stronger area for this facility. We found that it outperformed most facilities in this area with 56.3 percent of its patients returning home. This really helped its score in this area.

Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its nursing grade. The nursing score includes quite a few factors, but the main consideration is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. With just 3.1 hours of nursing care per resident each day, this place's nurse staffing levels were quite a bit below average. Unfortunately, this nursing home also had terrible scores in some of the quality-based metrics to pair with its low nursing hour totals. We looked at the percentage of residents suffering pressure ulcers and we were very disappointed. This nursing home was at approximately 150 percent of the national average in this measure.

Historical

The last category we assessed is long-term care, where this nursing home was given a very poor grade here also. We gave it an abysmal F in this area, which is definitely a major concern. Facilities that receive this kind of score in this category may not provide the type of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities offer. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. Unfortunately, this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 85.86388 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
