Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
Although we gave this nursing home a terrible overall grade, we gave it a B- for short-term care. Our short-term care ratings are meaningful for prospective residents looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires additional skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.9 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
Nurse Quality
We were also surprised to find that this facility received a decent nursing grade this year. We gave it a grade of B- in that category. Our nursing grade is largely based on a facility's nurse staffing. This place averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis, which is not an impressive total. Lastly, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this facility performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place.

Facility Inspections
This facility received a lowly F for its inspection grade. When a place has this poor of an inspection rating, you should expect some severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to the well being of residents. This facility was hit with 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only positive thing we can say is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they posed a risk to patient health or safety. Lastly, we also want to point out that this place received significant government fines in recent years of more than $100,000. This generally suggests that a bad performance has been an issue for multiple years.
Long-term Care Quality
The next category we scored was long-term care. Unfortunately, we gave it an abysmal F for this category, which is a bottom of the barrel score. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in this category likely don't provide the kind of consistent around the clock care that some other nursing homes provide. One of the factors we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility administered the pneumonia vaccine to just 85.1735 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
