Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
Although we graded this nursing home extremely poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable nursing grade this year. We gave it a C in this category. Our nursing score assesses the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We look at both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the amount of time spent with residents. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.
Short-term Care Quality
We awarded this nursing home a grade of just D for our short-term care grade and that actually wound up as its second best category. Short-term care grades are often employed to judge a facility's rehabilitation services. In order to provide highly graded rehabilitation services, facilities generally must feature higher levels of highly skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other licensed professionals. With its weak rating in this category, we weren't shocked to learn that this place offers far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most other facilities. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who ultimately returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.4 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this nursing home only earned a grade of D for its long-term care rating, which is not an impressive grade. For long-term care residents, the primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. We were optimistic to learn that this facility vaccinated 95.588234 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place also fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
Facility Inspections
Turning the last category of inspections, this nursing home had an abysmal showing. Sadly, it received an F in our inspection category. This is our most heavily weighted category in our overall grading system. You should pay close attention to any deficiencies on a facility's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection grade. We would scrutinize the severity of those deficiencies. This nursing home had 6 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we found is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they posed a threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility also received 26 substantiated complaints in recent years. This is yet another bad sign.
