Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also found that this facility excelled in our long-term care rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Nursing homes that excel in long-term care typically provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents healthy. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing score. Nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility an A+. When determining a facility's nursing score, we assess the number of hours nurses spend with residents as well as the skill levels of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

This facility also received a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that category with a score of A+. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors found on a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this area tend to have few of these severe deficiencies. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find deficiency data for this facility. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In our final category, this nursing home also received a very strong short-term care rating, with an A. This completed a first-rate profile. Our short-term care scores are based in part on a facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.5 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
