Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

To go along with a strong overall grade, we awarded this facility an A+ for our inspection category. Inspection ratings are based on pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G through L. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. We should point out that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility excelled in our nursing rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Nursing scores are primarily associated with the facility's nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

This facility also received a very impressive short-term care grade. In fact, this turned out to be this nursing home's third strongest category score. In that category, we gave this facility a score of A. In computing these short-term care grades, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our goal is to create a tool for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 6.2 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we scored is long-term care. In this area, we gave this nursing home a solid grade of B-. This actually was this facility's least impressive category. Our long-term care ratings are more important for patients requiring more traditional assistance related to personal care. Once we finished looking at the quantity of nursing care, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. We were pleased to discover that this facility vaccinated 99.27007 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Finally, this place was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
