Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

It should be noted that this nursing home's inspection rating outpaced its overall grade. We awarded it a B+ for its inspections grade, which is a very solid score. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' scale. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe made us feel better about this inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Another one of this facility's better category scores was in the category of short-term care. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of B. It actually performed better than most facilities in this area. In our short-term care category, we try to forge a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we look at a facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final item we looked at in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 5.2 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility's next most favorable category was long-term care. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of B-. In our long-term care grade, we look at the sheer quantity of care offered by a nursing home, along with a series of qualitative statistics. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 99.0991 percent of its residents. Lastly, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

The next category we analyzed is nursing. For this category, we gave this facility a grade of C. Our nursing grade looks at the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We look at both the levels of training of the nurses and the number of hours spent with residents. This facility averages 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily, which is well below average. Lastly, although this place got dinged a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it excelled in some of our quality-based metrics. With fewer than five percent of its residents experiencing pressure ulcers, it did well in this area.
