Short-term Care Quality
On top of performing well overall, this nursing home received high marks for short-term care as well. As a result, it received our highest grade in that category with a score of A+. In the area of short-term care, we strive to assess indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Facilities with better grades in this category generally have few of these severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Nurse Quality
To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. The nursing grade is based on quite a few subcategories, many of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as employing a system of turning a resident more often.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we assessed was long-term care. We gave this facility one of our better scores in this category, with a B. Even though this is not on par with some of its other scores, it is nevertheless a positive score. In a long-term care environment, the primary goal is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 92.15686 percent of its patients. This is a few points lower than we were hoping for but still a decent percentage. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital.
