Grade: A-plus

On top of receiving an elite overall grade, this facility also received an A+ inspection score. This grade is based on the facility's recent inspection reports. An A+ in this category is one of the highest complements we can offer a nursing home. Inspection scores are based on several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this area tend to have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Although this place had some deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' scale. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

In computing our short-term care grades, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The goal is to create a barometer for comparing the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

Switching gears to our fourth area, this facility was awarded an acceptable long-term care rating. Although this was not quite as strong as a few of its other grades, this is really not a poor grade. Our long-term care scores are pivotal for prospective residents requiring non-healthcare services such as personal care. In addition to looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 97.87234 percent of its patients. Lastly, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
