Facility Inspections
In addition to receiving a strong overall score, this nursing home also earned first-rate inspections in recent years. We awarded it one of our better grades in this area, with an A. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, it does not look like we were able to find deficiency counts for this nursing home. We wish we had more information about this nursing home. Without all of the deficiency data, it ended up being difficult to really evaluate this nursing home in the inspections category.
Nurse Quality
Adding to this nursing home's list of strengths, it also received an excellent nursing grade. We awarded them an impressive grade of A in this category. Our nursing rating is largely tied to the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a system of turning patients more often.

Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home also was awarded a favorable long-term care grade. In fact, we gave it an above average grade of B in this area. Long-term care ratings of this caliber generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 58.82353 percent of its residents. This is a bit below what we anticipated but still a respectable percentage. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to our last category, this nursing home was given a respectable short-term care grade. Although this wasn't as good as some of its other scores, this is really nothing to be ashamed of. Our short-term care grades are thought to be most critical for those requiring rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally utilizes more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not merely nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the percentage of residents who returned home from this facility. We found that 4.5 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was well below the national average.
