Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this facility also received an excellent long-term care score, with a grade of A. Nursing homes that do well in this category tend to be well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to residents. After we finished looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 99.2278 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly can be a life or death ailment for nursing home patients so we prefer when a facility doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

This facility has earned near flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave them an A- in this category. Inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This facility was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered severe. This tells you that the government inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies to be an immediate threat to resident health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Adding to its profile, this facility also earned a grade of B+ for its nursing rating. This is a well above average score in this category. The nursing grade weighs several components, however, the paramount one is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

Switching gears to the final category, this nursing home received a strong short-term care score. In fact, we gave it a B+ in that category, topping off one of our finer profiles. Our short-term care scores are critical for patients needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a broad range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final statistic we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
