Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to point out that this nursing home earned near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A+ in this area. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This nursing home also was dominant in the area of long-term care, where it received a score of A-. Only a select group of nursing homes received a better grade in this area. When facilities receive this type of score in this category it is a good sign for patient care and indicates that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses and aids. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination records. This facility vaccinated 98.947365 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping patients out of the hospital. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A- for that category. In determining a nursing home's nursing rating, we consider the amount of time nurses spend with patients and the level of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The last category we analyzed was short-term care, in which this nursing home was given a grade of B. While this proved to be its lowest category rating, this is nevertheless an impressive rating. Short-term care ratings are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a broad scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
