On top of being a great facility overall, it also earned A+ government inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually perfect. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection grades. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some are quite minor. Although this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' scale. A few minor dings are not necessarily something to panic about.

This facility is also strong in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B+. It outperformed most nursing homes in this category. Our nursing grade is primarily associated with the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Additionally, this nursing home also was awarded favorable long-term care grades this year. In fact, we gave them one of our better scores in that category, with a grade of B. Nursing homes that do well in this category typically are well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to patients. One of the datapoints we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccines. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 96.91358 percent of its patients. This is a great way to avoid unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations for the elderly population. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. This means not only nursing, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home.
