Nurse Quality
While we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we gave it a grade of B- for our nursing rating. The nursing rating features a variety of subcategories. The most important factor is the quantity of hours nurses spent with residents. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility actually excelled in some of the quality measures we looked at. It performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be measures of the quality of nursing care. In some cases, the quality of nursing care is every bit as important as the number of hours of care offered.
Short-term Care Quality
Incredibly, we gave this nursing home a B- for its short-term care rating, which really isn't a bad grade. Our short-term care grade is commonly used to grade a facility's performance with rehabilitation. In order to have highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must offer higher levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other types of therapists. In this nursing home's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than a typical facility. The hope is that this does not adversely affect the quality of care. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality
Surprisingly, we awarded this facility a C for its long-term care score, which really isn't too bad of a score. Our long-term care scores are essential for prospective residents requiring personal care. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination records. We were disappointed to learn that this facility vaccinated only 87.128716 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Nevertheless, this place excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
Facility Inspections
The last category we assessed was inspections. Unfortunately, this facility didn't receive glowing inspections in recent years. Consequently, we had to give it an F. With facilities that received this poor of an inspection score, we would scrutinize the severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This particular facility was assessed 5 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they created a risk to resident health or safety. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
