In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this facility also received an A+ long-term care grade. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in long-term care typically provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure residents are well cared for. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 99.30556 percent of its residents, which is very impressive. Pneumonia can be a dangerous health condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a facility does not take any chances. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 1.39 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than many nursing homes.

Adding to an already impressive profile, this facility also received virtually flawless health inspections in recent years. As a result, we awarded it an A+ inspection grade. Our inspection grades are based on pieces of information found on the a nursing home's inspections. Facilities that excel in this category have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This place was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate risk to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

This facility received a very good nursing grade this year as well. It received one of our better scores in that category with a grade of B+. Our nursing score includes numerous factors. The most important variable is the number of hours nurses spent with residents. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at certain nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We view these metrics as reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.

Historical

The final area we looked at is short-term care. This nursing home was given an above average nursing rating in our assessment, with a B. Even though this isn't quite as elite as several of its other grades, this is still one of the better grades for this category. In determining these short-term care ratings, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our objective is to formulate a measure for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Unfortunately, we were not able to find information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The last item we assessed in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
