Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

We would like to point out that this facility's inspection rating exceeded its overall score. This facility earned a grade of B+ in this category, which is a quality score. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This nursing home was assessed 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors didn't consider any of these deficiencies to create an immediate risk to patient safety or health. A couple of minor deficiencies should not stop you from considering a nursing home.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facilities second most favorable area was short-term care. We gave it a B- in this category. This is basically a slightly below average grade in this area. Short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a wide range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other types of therapy. In this facility's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the typical facility. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients that ultimately returned home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was actually quite a bit below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility's next best category was its nursing grade, where it received a grade of B-. When calculating a facility's nursing score, we consider the amount of time nurses commit to patients as well as the levels of training of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place actually fared better in some of the quality measures we looked at. It performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Our next area is long-term care, where we gave this nursing home a grade of C in this category. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 95.2381 percent of its residents, which is higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. This place also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
