On top of being an elite facility overall, this facility also excelled in the area of inspections, where it received an A+. Very few nursing homes fared this well in this area. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Places with better scores in this category typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a system of moving a resident even once per day.

In the final category we analyzed, this nursing home was awarded an impressive grade grade of B+ in our short-term care category. With this grade, the facility rounded out a very strong profile. Our short-term care ratings are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this facility submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists.
