Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

On top of being an elite facility overall, this facility also excelled in the area of inspections, where it received an A+. Very few nursing homes fared this well in this area. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Places with better scores in this category typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

Another reason we graded this facility so favorably is that it received an A+ long-term care score. This is flat out as strong as it gets in this area. Long-term care ratings in this range generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients, which is significantly higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Our nursing rating assesses the facility's level of nurse staffing. We look at both the levels of training of those nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be avoided by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a system of moving a resident even once per day.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the final category we analyzed, this nursing home was awarded an impressive grade grade of B+ in our short-term care category. With this grade, the facility rounded out a very strong profile. Our short-term care ratings are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this facility submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents that returned home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
