Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this nursing home favorably overall, we want to point out its excellent inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A- in this category. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even with this deficiency, this nursing home still received a relatively favorable report.
Long-term Care Quality
We also gave this nursing home a respectable score in the area of long-term care, where we gave it a B-. Our long-term care scores are based on the facility's quantity of care. This includes a broad spectrum of personal care services, ranging from assistance with activities of daily living to routine healthcare services. One of the datapoints we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccines. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to just 78.19149 percent of its patients. Fortunately, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

In our short-term care rating, we seek to craft a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze the nursing home's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Given its grade in this area, we were not stunned to learn that this nursing home is well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either.
