Nurse Quality
We didn't have many favorable things to say about this facility's overall grade or its category grades. This place's best category came in nursing. Nevertheless, with a grade of just D in this category, it still performed poorly. We looked at the qualifications of nurses working for the facility, in addition to the quantity of hours the nurses spent with residents, in determining our rating in this area. This place provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis, which is slightly below the national average. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing scores. This nursing home fared well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's second most favorable category was long-term care, but even there it earned a grade of just D in that category. This turns out to be a relatively poor score. For prospective patients looking for a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. On top of considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 95.02664 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this place also fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had just 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.

Facility Inspections
Among this facility's alarming category grades was an F for its inspection grade. More often than not, this means we found some red flags on the facility's inspection reports. When a place has this bad of an inspection rating, you should expect some severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to resident safety. This particular facility was assessed 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only positive thing we found is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they caused a threat to resident safety or health. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we scored is short-term care. It received a lowly F in this category, which is a rock bottom grade. Short-term care grades are based on a facility's quantity of skilled nursing services. This means a vast spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. With its score in this category, we were not stunned to discover that this facility was well below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the data we assessed. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who ultimately returned home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
