Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a grade of B- for our nursing rating. Our nursing score is primarily tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. We discovered that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.

This nursing home's inspections also were not the source of this nursing home's rock bottom overall score. The facility received a C in this area. Inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

The next area we analyzed is long-term care, in which this nursing home received an abysmal score in this area as well. It received a lowly F in this area, which is definitely very concerning. When nursing homes receive this type of score in long-term care it is typically a bad sign for resident care and it may mean that the facility is not as well-staffed with nurses and aids. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. As it turns out, this nursing home gave the vaccine to only 68 percent of its patients, which is somewhat alarming. Surprisingly, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.
