After we finished looking at the amount of care provided by nurses, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 94.73684 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia can be a dangerous illness for nursing home residents so we like it when a facility does not roll the dice on this issue. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

This nursing home also received a strong nursing score. In fact, we awarded it an above average grade of B+ in this area. Our nursing score weighs quite a few factors, most of which are based on nursing hours. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

We awarded this facility a D in short-term care, making this the facility's least impressive area. We would still recommend that you consider all of a nursing home's grades. This includes a vast range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy.
