Facility Inspections
On top of being a great nursing home overall, it also received A+ health inspections recently. Its inspections are virtually flawless. Our inspection ratings account for several factors found on a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we consider is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area generally have very few of these severe deficiencies. Although this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
Contributing to its high-end profile, this nursing home also excelled in our short-term care area. In fact, it received a score of A for the area. Short-term care grades are generally employed to gauge a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. To have good rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must have higher levels of highly skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last measure we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Long-term Care Quality
In our final category, this facility also was given an excellent long-term care grade, with a grade of A. This finished off a rare straight A profile. Long-term care grades of this caliber generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations.
