Facility Inspections
B-
Historical
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a B- for our inspections rating. In fact, the facility received very impressive inspection report this year. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are quite minor. While this facility had some minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
Nurse Quality
B-
Historical
One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing score. In that category, we gave this nursing home an B-. Our nursing grade analyzes the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We weigh both the levels of licensure of those nurses as well as the quantity of hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages 3.7 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also considered some quality-based measures. This place fared well in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. For example, in terms of the number of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, this facility performed better than the national average. This is typically an indicator that a place has quality controls in place. Pressure ulcers can generally be prevented with better nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
B-
Historical
This nursing home also didn't rate too badly in the area of short-term care. In fact, we awarded it a grade of B- in that category, which is among its higher grades. Short-term care grades are commonly employed to score a facility's performance with rehabilitation To have good rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to have better levels of skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other licensed professionals. Fortunately, this nursing home offers both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities offer both. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. It performed better than most facilities in the country with 53.5 percent of its patients returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
F
Historical
The next area we graded was long-term care. This nursing home received an abysmal grade of F in that area. If you are looking for services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care scores. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 97.5 percent of its patients, which is higher than the majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this place also keeps its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
