Inspection ratings weigh a host of factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this category typically have very few severe deficiencies. While this facility had some deficiencies on its report, none were serious based on CMS' scale. Finally, we also looked at certain nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these metrics as good indicators of the caliber of nursing care being provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

In our final category, this facility also received a very strong short-term care score, with an A-. This rounded out a very impressive profile. Short-term care ratings are based on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a vast range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. One of this nursing home's strengths is registered nurse hours. We found that it offers more care from registered nurses to its residents than most facilities. The final statistic we looked at in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return home. It fared as well as just about any facility in Indiana in this area with 56.6 percent of its residents returning home.
