Facility Inspections
On top of performing well overall, this facility earned nearly flawless government inspections. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that area with an A+. Arguably the most important factor we consider in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this area most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. Unfortunately, we were not able to find information on deficiency's for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
Adding to its fine assessment, this facility also was given a superb short-term care grade, with a score of A. In our short-term care grade, we attempt to craft a fair gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we look at the nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home was awarded a superb grade of A- in our long-term care category. Long-term care ratings in this range generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 65.32663 percent of its residents. This is somewhat below what we anticipated. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
Nurse Quality
In our final category, we awarded this facility a grade of A+ for its nursing score. This wrapped up a very favorable profile. The nursing grade is based on many factors. The most important factor is the amount of time nurses spent with patients. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
