Facility Inspections
While we did not have many positive things to say about this nursing home's overall grade, it did receive a somewhat respectable government inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent score in this category with a B-. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection grades. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some can be relatively insignificant. While this place had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Short-term Care Quality
The second most favorable category we awarded this nursing home in any area came in the area of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of B-. Our short-term care scores are thought to be most meaningful for people in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not merely nursing, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, this place was below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the measures we assessed. The critical question is whether this adversely affected quality of care. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients who who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.4 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was actually quite a bit below average.

Nurse Quality
We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of C. Our nursing rating weighs a handful of datapoints, many of which are associated with levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place surprisingly excelled in some of the quality measures we assessed. In fact, it performed well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these areas to be reliable measures of the quality of nursing care. In some cases, the quality of nursing care is as important as the quantity of hours of care offered.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to the next category, this nursing home didn't fare well in this category either. With an abysmal grade of F in long-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. When nursing homes receive this type of grade in this category it is a bad sign for resident care and it may indicate that the facility is not as well-staffed. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination records. We were a bit alarmed this nursing home vaccinated 61.233482 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which happens to be several points less than what we were hoping for. Surprisingly, this facility was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had just 0.04 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
