Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

While this facility's overall grade was not a highlight, we awarded it a B- for long-term care. In calculating our long-term care scores, we scrutinize the personal care received by a nursing home's residents. After looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is more than the majority of nursing homes. This place was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The next best category we awarded this nursing home in any area came in the area of short-term care, where we awarded it a C. In crafting these short-term care ratings, we quantify the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our objective is to create a barometer for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. This facility received mediocre government inspections in recent years. We awarded them a grade of C in this area. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. This facility was hit with 2 deficiencies on its government inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were category G through L deficiencies. This indicates that CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies to be an imminent danger to resident health or safety. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.

Nurse Quality

The last category we graded is nursing, which ended up being this nursing home's worst area. We awarded this facility a D in this area.
