Facility Inspections
While we gave this facility a poor overall rating, we actually awarded it a somewhat respectable grade in the category of inspections, where it received a grade of B-. This was better than its other categories. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are quite insignificant. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This means that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
Short-term Care Quality
This facilities next best area was short-term care. We gave it a B- in this category. This is basically a slightly below average score in this area. In the category of short-term care, we seek to assess indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We analyze a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. Unfortunately, we found that this facility provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The key is determining what effect this had on quality of care. The final measure we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that just 6.2 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality
The next category we looked at was long-term care. In that category, we gave this nursing home a B-. For patients seeking a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We were a bit alarmed this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 77.490776 percent of its patients. Fortunately, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Nurse Quality
The last area we graded is nursing. Sadly, it received an F in this area, which is a very poor score. Nursing scores are largely tied to the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home offered just 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is well below average. This facility also had abysmal marks in some of the quality-based metrics to pair with its low nursing hours. We looked at the percent of patients experiencing pressure ulcers and we were very disappointed. This nursing home was at roughly 150 percent of the national average in this area.
