Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to faring well overall, this facility also earned nearly flawless government inspections. Consequently, it earned one of our best grades in that category with an A+. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe made us feel better about this inspection report.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Building on its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this facility an B+ for our nursing rating. Nursing ratings are primarily associated with the facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility also received a favorable long-term care grade. Indeed, we gave it an above average score of B+ in this category. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care tend to provide patients with better supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. After considering the volume of nursing care, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 98.81517 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia sadly can be a life or death condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home doesn't roll the dice on this issue. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The final area we looked at is short-term care, where this nursing home was given a B-. This actually turned out to be this nursing home's worst category. This is nevertheless not a terrible score. Our short-term care scores are based on a nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a broad scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was actually quite a bit below the national average.
