Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this nursing home really excelled in nursing, where it received an A. Nursing grades are based largely on quality and quantity of nursing care. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility Oregon in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as employing a protocol of moving a resident more frequently.
Short-term Care Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so highly is that it received a favorable short-term care grade. Indeed, short-term care ended up being its second best category grade. In that category, we gave this nursing home a score of A-. Our short-term care ratings are based on the nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final measure we assessed in this area is the number of patients who returned home from the nursing home. We found that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Facility Inspections
Moving on to another of this facility's strengths, it also earned a very impressive inspection grade. In that category, we awarded this nursing home an impressive grade of B+. Arguably the most important factor we look at in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this area typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Fortunately, although this nursing home had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few relatively minor dings are not necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
Turning to the final area, this nursing home was given a respectable long-term care rating. Although this isn't quite as dominant as many of its other category grades, this is still not the end of the world. In calculating our long-term care ratings, we assess the personal care offered to a facility's residents. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 97.91667 percent of its patients. Finally, this place was also able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
