One of the reasons this turned out to be a great nursing home is it earned a very impressive grade in inspections. In fact, inspections ended up being its best category. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

This facility received a very good nursing grade this year as well. It received one of our better scores in that category with a grade of B+. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can generally be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Turning to our next category, this nursing home also performed admirably in our long-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of B+ in that category. This wrapped up a very impressive profile. When nursing homes receive this type of grade in this category it is typically a good sign for resident care and indicates that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses aids. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 98.85714 percent of its patients, which is far higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
